Throughout the year, NICAS organizes a bi-weekly Colloquium featuring short lunch where researchers share updates, present new ideas, or discuss the outcomes of their work. The Colloquium aims to keep the field informed about the latest developments, foster the exchange of knowledge, and encourage collaboration.

The NICAS Project Day is an afternoon filled with presentations and discussions on conservation, art and science. This year’s edition takes place at the TU Delft.

The Netherlands Institute for Conservation+Art+Science+ (NICAS) will hold a two-day conference at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam on 3 and 4 April 2025. This conference will explore how molecular research contributes to deeper insights into the creation and craftsmanship of paintings and to decision-making and treatments in both active and preventive conservation of paintings.
